Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
Overview
Silip is a local macOS application. It is designed with privacy in mind and does not collect, store, or transmit personal data. Your windows, your data, your Mac — everything stays local.
Data We Do Not Collect
Silip does not include any analytics, crash reporting, usage telemetry, or tracking of any kind. We have no servers that receive data from the app.
Screen Recording Permission
Silip requires the macOS Screen Recording permission to read window titles from other applications. This data is used locally to display your open windows in the overlay. It is never stored, logged, or transmitted outside your Mac.
Accessibility Permission
Silip requires the macOS Accessibility permission to programmatically focus and bring application windows to the front. No keyboard input is captured or transmitted. This permission is used solely for window management.
License Activation
When you activate your license, your license key is sent to Lemon Squeezy's API to verify its validity. This is the only network request Silip makes. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy governs data collected during purchase and activation. You can review it at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
Local Storage
App preferences — including your hotkey setting, layout mode, window size, and pinned apps — are stored locally in macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
Lemon Squeezy is used for payment processing and license management. No other third-party services are integrated into or contacted by Silip.
Children's Privacy
Silip is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
